Hyderabad Metro is one of the largest metro rail projects in public-private participation (PPP) mode, its a 72 km long metro rail project started in April 2012 at an estimated cost of Rs 14,000 crore (2.15 Billion USD). Project cost has gone up to over Rs 18,500 crore (2.85 Billion USD) to accomodate the scope changes to the project. This project is being executed by Larsen and Toubro.
It has started in 2012 and it took almost 5 years for the completion and is ready to serve the public. Honorable Prime Minister of India – Mr Narendra Modi likely to inagurate the project on 28th November 2017.
How this is related to .IN domain name extention?
I was just curious to find out what are the domain names in use for this project , there are multiple domain names i feel important to consider , the first one is the official website of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL)- hmrl.telangana.gov.in.
Next one is project execution company L&T Metro website, they are using LTMetro.in and lTMetroHyderabad.in. They also own lTMetro.com but they prefered to use .IN over .Com.
On a different note, parent company L&T also owning few short names like LnT.in and LnT.co.in. L&T main website is on a .COM and registered in 1997 much before the .IN extension available for public use.
