Its a smart move from the .IN Registry, Nixi, by transitioning its backend operations to Neustar for providing better services to all the .IN domain name users. Since 2005, Afilias that managed backend operations for India’s .IN Registry. Recently, Neustar won the license for being its backend provider. The transition is scheduled to commence on February 27, 2019.
NIXI advised their customers to expect the aforementioned restrictions for 48 hours on the said dates:
The transition period will entail a maximum of 48-hour downtime starting from 00:00 IST on February 28, 2019, to 00:00 IST on March 1, 2019.
NIXI believes that this transition will bring about remarkable improvements to the Registry which will translate to a lot of benefits for its Registrars as well as customers. During this maintenance window, new domain registrations, and updation and deletion of existing .IN and .भारत domains will be halted temporarily. Also, transfer codes for all .IN . and .भारत domains will be reset at the Registry.
OUR.in Advise: All users, “please renew any names due for deletions between 26th to 5th March at the earliest possible, it’s a proactive measure to avoid losing any of your names”
